UAE T20x is the name of the country’s brand-new Twenty20 cricket league which is scheduled to kick off in December.
The inaugural event will feature 22 matches that will be played between five franchises in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
Each of the 16-man squads will include six international players, four emerging and junior players, in addition to three ICC Associate Member players and three UAE national team players.
To date, the boards of seven ICC Test member nations have given their consent to their players taking part in the new league including: England & Wales, the West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Ireland, together with 12 ICC Associate Member nations.
The tournament, led by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and OPi Sports, will be held between December 19 and January 11.
